No, that's not a lazy writing shortcut by me, that's what they call it. NaNoWriMo! It's a National Novel Writing Month contest ... er something like that. It's a writing contest I heard about. It begins November 1 and ends on the 30th. The link has all the info.

I didn't know if anyone would be interested in something like that, or had time for it. They want you to write a novel with 50,000 words in one month. That would be something like 1700 words a day. They don't want you to edit anything either. They just want you to go from start to finish and just blaze through the whole thing. Follow that link, it'll explain everything. I'm still looking it over, although I doubt I do that this year. Maybe not even next year. But maybe someday.

But truth is...too many people are gonna be entering into the contest as it is..I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have much of a chance in it lol.

Some people have entered just to see if they can do it, not for the winning. I don't even know what it is you'd win, actually. Just to do it would be why I would try ... not only to see if I can crank out that many words in that time, but to just have a start, middle and ending to something.

I started a book many moons ago and got up past 20 chapters.... and realized I'd hardly touched the story itself. And then I began to see a series of books possible in the story and thats where I got daunted not only by the possibility of it but the stupid copy right factor that had me wondering if I could even write the thing to sell to begin with ... and of course, real life issues kept getting in the way. Eventually I dropped the thing and there it's been sitting. It's been a dark cloud on my writing ever since I think. :🤷:

You know...If I actually had time to do something like this I would. But with my crazy work schedule and the holidays coming up I don't think I would have time to do so. Hell you see how long it took me to finish my RDI post. Imagine if I had a deadline? It'd never get done. Perfectionist that I am I start editing my work even before it's finished. Haha. I also have procrastination issues. How I managed to finish all my English courses before I graduated high school was a miracle in itself. Alright...Enough of my rambling.

You DO have the time to do something like this. We all have the same amount of time in a day. I just take like 2-3 hours out of my day to write something during the night sometime. It's not all that long actually You can do anything you put your mind to! I can't because I am not allowed anymore. But you can!

Edit freak? Ditto here! Yet I still manage to get a few speeling errors anyway, and some gramatical blunders too. I can't imagine why... bounce
He's right, though. You can do anything you set your mind to. I wonder how much I could write if I set my mind to ignore the errors and just blazed right through....
